Rockstar has named six regions and shown a lot of street corners. It has not published a map. This one starts from the YANIS V17 community reconstruction, adds 920 sourced landmarks, and pins the 22 places the guide writes about. Every featured pin says how it was sourced.

Drag to move, scroll or pinch to zoom, and use the region buttons to jump. Select a dot for the source note, mark it found, or copy a link to it. The basemap is the YANIS V17 community reconstruction, not an official Rockstar map. Featured pins are editorial; community landmarks come from the GTADB dataset. Positions are approximate.
How to read it
Two layers, three labels.
The map has two layers. The 22 featured pins are editorial. The 920 community landmarks are data. A featured pin carries one of three source labels, and the label matters more than the position. Rockstar has not published coordinates for anything, so even a confirmed place can sit a few streets off.
Named by Rockstar. The place appears in a Rockstar description, a character bio, or an official screenshot caption. The name is real. The position is an estimate.
Seen, not named. The place appears in trailer or screenshot footage, but Rockstar has not named it. The label describes what the footage shows.
Reported. The name comes from a location list, a sign, or a second hand source. Treat it as a lead, not a fact.
Community landmark. A place from the GTADB dataset with a name and a position, but no editorial description. Useful for density, not for a verdict.
The map key lists every dot color. Community dots use the color of their type. Featured pins use the same colors, but they are larger and carry a ring. A selected pin gets a gold ring.
The basemap
A community map, credited.
The basemap is YANIS V17, made by Yanis and the GTA VI Mapping Community and distributed by GTADB.ORG. It is a reconstruction assembled from trailers, screenshots, and the geometry those frames imply. It is not a leak dump and it is not an official Rockstar map. The page labels it as a community reconstruction wherever it appears.
The 920 landmarks come from the GTA VI Landmarks dataset, also from GTADB.ORG and contributors. We remove unnamed entries, map the raw tags into readable categories, and place each point on the basemap. We do not invent positions for points that have none, which is why some places in the dataset are missing from the map.
When the game arrives, the in-game map becomes the only map that matters. This page will be rebuilt around it, with real coordinates and real distances. Until then, the community reconstruction is the most useful public picture of Leonida, and it deserves the credit line it gets.
The regions
Six places, six different games.
Each region changes how you move, who you meet, and how much trouble a wrong turn causes.
Rockstar calls Vice City "the sun and fun capital of America" and says the city has moved on from the 1980s without losing its appetite for money. The skyline is new, the beaches are still the postcard, and the criminal economy runs through both.
The Keys are a chain of low islands south of Vice City, linked by a long bridge and a slower idea of time. Rockstar says the dress code is casual and the bars are loaded. It also warns that the water is beautiful and dangerous.
Grassrivers is the wet interior: sawgrass, slow channels, mangroves, and enough wildlife to make a wrong turn feel like a bad decision. Rockstar calls it "the untamable jewel of Leonida's crown" and says the alligators are the famous attraction, not the deadliest one.
Port Gellhorn is a beach town that lost its tourists and kept the signs. Rockstar describes cheap motels, shut-down attractions, and empty strip malls, with an economy fueled by malt liquor, painkillers, and truck stop energy drinks.
Ambrosia is inland industry. The Allied Crystal sugar refinery provides the jobs, and Rockstar says the local biker gang provides almost everything else. The town sits in the middle of cane fields, with Lake Leonida close enough to matter.
Mount Kalaga National Park sits against the state's northern border. Rockstar lists hunting, fishing, and off-road trails as the reasons to go, and adds that hillbilly mystics and paranoid radicals live in the backwoods away from the government.
Rockstar has never published a square-mile figure for a GTA map. The numbers below are comparisons, measurements, or claims. None is an official size.
Claim
What it is
How much to trust it
About 2x GTA V, 3x Red Dead Redemption 2
A Rockstar North developer's comparison, given to a creator invited to the studio in July 2026 and reported second hand in August.
Useful as a scale, not a measurement. It is not a Rockstar press release.
Roughly 2.5x GTA V
Fan reconstructions from trailers and screenshots, revised as new footage appears.
An estimate built from incomplete views. It will change at launch.
About 83 km² of land
A measurement of leaked material reported in August 2026.
Single source, built on a leak. We do not use it as a basis for this map.
"Biggest, most immersive"
Rockstar's own marketing language at pre-order.
A claim, not a number.
The only size that will matter is the one you feel while driving. A map can be large and empty, or small and dense. The Extended Look suggests density in Vice City and long, quiet roads everywhere else.
The paper version
You can hold the map, eventually.
Rockstar says a printable version of the cover art and the Leonida map will be free on the official site starting November 19. It also sells a two-sided poster with both images for $0.99. The retail box does not include a paper map.
If you want the map on a wall, the official poster is the clean option. If you want it beside the console while you play, the free download is the practical one. Both arrive on launch day, which is later than the preload and earlier than your first wrong turn.
What is missing
The map knows less than you want.
There are no region borders, road distances, fast-travel rules, or counts of enterable interiors. Rockstar has not said how many islands the Keys contain, how far north the park runs, or whether the map ends at a hard edge or water. The pins here are the places that have appeared in public material, not the full set.
That is the trade for not using leaks. The page will be less complete than a map built from stolen material. It will also still be correct on launch day, when the real map makes the difference obvious.
Questions
Map questions, answered.
Is there an official GTA 6 map?
Not yet. Rockstar has not published an interactive map or a full image of Leonida. The in-game map arrives with the game on November 19. Rockstar says a printable cover and Leonida map will be available on the official site on launch day.
Is this the real GTA 6 map?
No. The basemap is YANIS V17, a community reconstruction of Leonida made by Yanis and the GTA VI Mapping Community and distributed by GTADB.ORG under CC BY 4.0. It is not an official Rockstar map. The 22 featured pins are editorial and carry a source label. The {LANDMARKS.length} community landmarks come from the GTADB dataset and do not carry an editorial description.
How big is the GTA 6 map?
Rockstar has not published a size. A Rockstar North developer reportedly compared it to about twice GTA V and three times Red Dead Redemption 2, but that figure reached the public second hand. Fan reconstructions put it at roughly 2.5 times GTA V. Treat every number as an estimate.
Can I get a physical map?
Rockstar says a printable Leonida map and cover will be free on the official site from November 19. It also sells a two-sided poster with the cover and map for $0.99. The Ultimate Edition and merchandise do not include a paper map in the box.
Why are some pins labeled reported?
A reported pin comes from a location list, a sign in a trailer, or a second-hand source rather than a Rockstar description. Its position is a guess. We keep it on the map because it may matter, but we do not present it as confirmed.
