GTA VI is the first mainline game in the series with a female lead who is not optional. It is also the first built around a relationship rather than a solo climb. Here is what Rockstar has said about Jason, Lucia, and the people around them.
JasonLuciaSix supporting characters
The local / Army veteran. Keys errand runner.
Jason
"Another day in paradise, right?"
Jason grew up around grifters and thieves, then joined the Army to put distance between himself and that life. It did not take. After his service he went back to the Keys and took the work he knew, running errands for drug runners.
Brian Heder, a longtime smuggler, lets Jason live in one of his properties. The arrangement comes with expectations: collect debts, lean on people, and show up for dinner once in a while. Jason is good at the first two and less sure about the third.
He wants an easier life. Meeting Lucia gives him a reason to think one is possible, which is not the same as knowing how to get there.
The planner / Leonida Penitentiary. Released. Not reformed.
Lucia
"The only things that matter in this world are the people you deal with and the money."
Lucia learned to fight before she learned to read a room. Her father taught her, and life kept the lesson going. She went to Leonida Penitentiary for her family, then came out sooner than expected and with a clearer idea of what she owed them.
Her mother moved the family from Liberty City chasing a better life. Lucia grew up watching the promise fall short. She is done waiting for a version of that life to arrive on its own.
She has a plan. It requires money, nerve, and someone she can trust. Jason is the first person in a long time who might be all three.
The setup
A bad score, a bigger conspiracy.
Rockstar has released the premise and the character bios. It has not released the plot, and this page stops where the marketing stops.
The story starts with a score that goes wrong. Jason and Lucia are not strangers to bad decisions, but this one puts them in the middle of a criminal conspiracy that reaches across Leonida.
Rockstar has described the pair as a criminal couple in the Bonnie and Clyde tradition. The difference is that both are playable, both have their own voice, and the relationship is not a cutscene that happens around the missions. It changes based on what the player does.
The game is structured in chapters, like Red Dead Redemption 2. Safehouses across the state work like the camp in that game: places to talk, build the relationship, and decide what kind of pair Jason and Lucia are becoming.
The satire is Florida in the 2020s. Social media, influencer culture, police body cameras, and the news cycle are part of the world rather than a separate joke track. Rockstar says it avoided slang with a short shelf life so the game would not date itself.
No spoilers. This page will not use leaked story details, mission names, or endings. When the game is out, anything beyond the opening hours will sit behind a clear warning on a separate page. There is no such page yet.
The cast
The people in their orbit.
Rockstar has introduced six supporting characters, each with a bio and a place in the state. Most of them start in Vice City or the Keys.
Cal Hampton
Jason's friend
"What if everything on the internet is true?"
Cal works for Brian Heder and feels safest at home with a beer, a scanner, and a private browser window. He is paranoid, loyal, and happier with company than he admits.
Boobie Ike
Vice City legend
"It all starts with heart. Jack of Hearts."
Boobie turned a street reputation into a legitimate empire of real estate, strip clubs, and a record studio. He is friendly until the conversation turns to business.
Dre'Quan Priest
Only Raw Records
"You are label now."
Dre'Quan sells drugs to fund the music business he actually wants. He has an ear for a hit and a habit of promising more than he can deliver.
Real Dimez
Bae-Luxe and Roxy
"Viral videos. Hit records."
Two friends from high school who turned small-time extortion into rap careers. Sharp songs, sharper social media, and a deal with Only Raw that took five years to sign.
Raul Bautista
Career bank robber
"Experience is capital."
Confident, charming, and ruthless. Raul looks for people willing to bet everything on a large return, then raises the stakes until the crew has to decide whether to double down or walk.
Brian Heder
Smuggler, landlord
"A mudslide at sunset is hard to beat."
Brian Heder came up when the Keys were a smuggler's paradise and never left. He runs a boat yard with his third wife, and lets Jason stay in one of his houses in exchange for favors.
Name by name
Supporting cast, name by name.
The bios above say who these people are. This section says what Rockstar has confirmed about each one, which of them you can play, and where the record stops. Rockstar has published no voice cast for the game, so the voice column reads the same for all six.
Every name and role comes from Rockstar's own cast list. The voice actor and playable status are not confirmed, and the paragraphs below say where the record stops.
Cal Hampton
Jason's friend
Voice: Not announced. Playable: No playable role announced.
Rockstar names Cal in the cast list and gives him one line of dialogue. That is the whole public record. The studio has not said whether he appears in a mission, whether he stays in the Keys, or whether he can be played, and Rockstar has not attached a voice actor to him.
His tie to the story is the clearest of the six. He works for Brian Heder alongside Jason, so both men sit in the same orbit before the score goes wrong. What that produces on screen is unknown, and any fan wiki that lists his missions is ahead of the evidence.
Boobie Ike
Vice City legend
Voice: Not announced. Playable: No playable role announced.
Boobie carries the longest business list in Rockstar's cast notes: property, strip clubs, and a studio. The notes do not say how Jason or Lucia meet him, whether he is an ally, or whether he is one of the people the pair end up owing.
He is the character most likely to be quoted, because Rockstar gave him a tagline and a nickname. Confirmed: the man, the businesses, and the nickname. Unknown: his screen time, his voice, and whether any mission runs through him.
Dre'Quan Priest
Only Raw Records
Voice: Not announced. Playable: No playable role announced.
Dre'Quan owns Only Raw Records and pays for it with drug money, according to Rockstar. That is a motive and a business in one sentence, and the studio has stopped there. No mission, no playable role, and no voice credit has been published.
The one hard number in his orbit is the deal. Real Dimez took five years to sign with Only Raw, which places the label in Vice City before the story starts. How far that history reaches into the plot is unknown.
Real Dimez
Bae-Luxe and Roxy
Voice: Not announced. Playable: No playable role announced.
Real Dimez is a duo, not a single character. Bae-Luxe and Roxy share one bio, one label, and one backstory, and Rockstar has not separated them in any material published so far. Expect them to arrive together.
Neither member is playable. No voice actor has been named for Bae-Luxe or for Roxy, so the answer for the act and for each of the two is the same. Confirmed: both names, the Only Raw deal, and the five-year gap before it. Unknown: how much of the story the pair carry.
Raul Bautista
Career bank robber
Voice: Not announced. Playable: No playable role announced.
Raul is the one supporting character Rockstar describes in heist terms. A career robber who finds people ready to bet everything and then raises the stake is a role in a plot, not a free-roam extra, though the studio has not said whether he hires the leads or competes with them.
Rockstar has announced two playable characters, Jason and Lucia, and has not added a third. No voice actor has been announced for Raul either, so a casting credit for him would be worth checking against a named source before you repeat it.
Brian Heder
Smuggler, landlord
Voice: Not announced. Playable: No playable role announced.
Brian Heder owns the boat yard and the house Jason lives in, and the errands he hands out are the closest thing to steady work in Rockstar's cast notes. If the arrangement runs through the story, he is the supporting character with the most obvious reason to reappear. That is an inference from the bio, not a Rockstar statement.
He is not playable, and no voice actor has been announced. Confirmed: the man, the properties, and the debt-collection work. Unknown: how often he appears and whether he is still alive at the end, which Rockstar has not discussed for any character.
Music cameos
Is Kodak Black in GTA 6?
Yes, in two different ways. IGN identified him in a November 5 Launch Gallery screenshot holding a cup with the Jack of Hearts logo, and Rockstar separately told Dazed that his music is in the game. Rockstar has not named the character, so the NPC sighting is reported. The music placement is the confirmed part.
The six characters above are the story cast Rockstar gave bios. Kodak Black is a real-life musician cameo and a radio artist, so he belongs in this separate section rather than the six-person table.
reported
Kodak Black
Rapper, radio artist
IGN identified him in a Launch Gallery screenshot holding a cup with the Jack of Hearts logo.
Rockstar has not named the character. IGN matched the man in the November 5 screenshot to Kodak Black, and the cup in his hand carries the Jack of Hearts logo. IGN treats that as a club tie; the screenshot alone does not confirm where he is standing. Treat the NPC appearance as reported until Rockstar names him.
The music is on firmer ground. Rockstar told Dazed that it loves Miami music, including Kodak Black and Sexyy Red, and the Extended Look uses "Skrilla" in the opening hallway scene. The full radio tracklist has not been published.
Rockstar named her music in its Dazed interview. No NPC sighting is confirmed.
The same Dazed interview names Sexyy Red beside Kodak Black in a sentence about Miami music. That confirms a music placement, not a character model or a mission role.
A leaked clip described "Pound Town" as the track, but the leak is not a source this page uses. Until Rockstar publishes the station list, the safe reading is that her music is in the game and her on-screen role is unknown.
The relationship is not a cutscene that happens around the missions. Rockstar has described several systems that change how the pair behaves in free roam and in the story.
Two playable leadsYou can play as Jason or Lucia. Lucia is the first non-optional female protagonist in the main series.
Split up or stay togetherIn free roam you can send the other lead off to do their own thing, or keep them around for activities. Rockstar says the relationship is optional.
Criminal profileA reputation system tracks whether a character keeps their crimes professional or causes unnecessary violence. It is closer to Red Dead Redemption 2's honor system than to a wanted level.
Body and loadoutWeight, sleep, and appearance change over time. Weapons are limited to two primary firearms and two sidearms, stored in the vehicle rather than carried everywhere.
The switching is not a costume change. Jason and Lucia have different reputations, different appearances, and different relationships with the people they meet. The Criminal Profile system tracks whether each one keeps their crimes professional or causes unnecessary violence, and the consequences follow the character rather than the player.
The limited loadout is the other change that will take getting used to. You carry two primary firearms and two sidearms, and the rest live in your vehicle. That makes the car part of the plan. It also means a chase that separates you from your vehicle can leave you underarmed.
Weight and sleep are visible on both characters. Stay awake for days and it shows in their faces. Eat, exercise, and the body changes. Rockstar pulled back from the most tedious version of this, dropping a grocery restock system because it complicated the mechanics, so the result should be texture rather than a survival game.
The relationship itself is optional. You can split the pair up in free roam, send the other lead to do their own thing, or keep them together for activities. Rockstar says the story does not force a romance. The marketing has been careful about this, and the game is not out yet, so treat any detailed description of the romance system as speculation.
What we do not know
The blank spaces.
How many chapters the story has, and how long each one runs.
Whether either lead can die, and what happens to the other if they do.
How the relationship meter changes mission outcomes, if it changes them at all.
Which characters return after their introduction, and which are one-scene cameos.
How much of the state the story visits before the credits.
Why it matters
A story about two people, not one.
Rockstar has said the pair's dynamic is inspired by Bonnie and Clyde, and that the writing team wanted both leads to be vulnerable, tough, and able to learn from each other. The studio also said it wants players to form a connection with them the way players did with Arthur Morgan in Red Dead Redemption 2.
That is a high bar. The safebouses across Leonida work like the camp in Red Dead Redemption 2, which is where the relationship gets its room to breathe. If the game delivers on that, the state will feel less like a map and more like a place the pair are trying to afford.
The supporting cast is built around the same idea. Boobie Ike and Dre'Quan Priest run a music business. Real Dimez are trying to turn a viral moment into a career. Raul Bautista is the experienced criminal who raises the stakes. Cal Hampton is the friend who would rather stay home. Each one gives the pair a different version of success to measure themselves against.
Questions
The cast, answered.
Who voices Cal Hampton?
Rockstar has not announced a voice actor for Cal, and the studio has not published a full voice cast for GTA VI. The line in his bio is the only performance detail in public, so any casting credit for Cal that you find on a wiki is unverified until Rockstar or a credited actor says it.
Is Raul Bautista playable?
No announcement says so. Rockstar has described two playable characters, Jason and Lucia, and has not named a third. Raul gets a bio that reads like a crew leader or a rival, and that is a story role rather than a playable one. If Rockstar adds a playable third character before launch, this answer changes with the announcement.
Who are Real Dimez?
Real Dimez are Bae-Luxe and Roxy, two friends from high school who turned small-time extortion into rap careers, according to Rockstar's bio. They record for Only Raw Records, the label Dre'Quan Priest owns, and the deal took five years to sign. They are supporting characters and neither one is playable.
Who is Brian Heder?
Brian Heder is the Keys smuggler who lets Jason live in one of his houses in exchange for errands, and he runs a boat yard with his third wife. Rockstar gives him the longest history in the cast: he came up when the Keys were a smuggler's paradise and never left. He is not playable and his voice actor has not been announced.
Are the six supporting characters all in the main story?
Unknown. Rockstar has published a bio for each of the six and has not said how many appear in the main story, how many are optional, or how many are limited to one scene. What is confirmed is that all six exist in the game's cast list and that none of them is a playable lead.
Is Kodak Black in GTA 6?
Yes, in two different ways. IGN identified him in a November 5 Launch Gallery screenshot holding a cup with the Jack of Hearts logo, but Rockstar has not named the character, so the NPC sighting is reported. Rockstar separately told Dazed that his music is in the game, and the Extended Look uses "Skrilla" in the opening hallway scene. He is not one of the six story characters with a Rockstar bio.
Is Kodak Black playable in GTA 6?
No. Rockstar has announced two playable leads, Jason and Lucia, and has not named a third. The Kodak Black sighting is an NPC in a club screenshot, not a playable character. Treat any claim that he has a campaign role as speculation until Rockstar describes it.
What Kodak Black song is in GTA 6?
The Extended Look uses "Skrilla" in the hallway scene after Jason and Lucia leave the lift. Rockstar has confirmed that Kodak Black music is in the game, but it has not published the full radio tracklist or said whether "Skrilla" is on a named station. The safe answer is the song heard in the footage, not a complete list.
Is Sexyy Red in GTA 6?
Her music is confirmed by Rockstar's Dazed interview, which names her beside Kodak Black. An on-screen NPC role is not confirmed, and the "Pound Town" placement comes from a leak rather than a Rockstar tracklist. Treat the music as confirmed and the character appearance as unknown.
Voice credits change only when Rockstar or a credited actor names one. Until then, the answer to every voice question on this page is the same.
